WELCOME TO THE HOMEPAGE for:
ENHANCEMENT, EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES, AND SOCIAL CHALLENGES!
10 - 14 September 2012 at the Inter-University Center, Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Major topics iclude:
BIOENHANCEMENT, TECHNOLOGY AND ETHICS, TRANSHUMANISM, POSTHUMANISM, AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITES.
From genomics to virtual reality, technology has been changing the way human beings interact and navigate in the world at an ever increasing pace. During the last two decades, advances in technological integration are calling for special attention from thinkers across the disciplines and around the world.
The aim of this multidisciplinary gathering is to bring together voices and perspectives from a variety of academic disciplines as well as fields of public practice and application concerning the development and transformation of our understanding of 'the human.' We invite papers from across the disciplines that will shed light on the state of affairs, especially the consequences of enhancement, especially bioenhancement, transhumanist and posthumanist accounts, and any and all ways in which these topics disrupt, challenge, impede, foster, nurture, aid or help develop social consciousness and concern for the notion of 'the human'.
Please see our call for papers. The links for Registration, Conference Program, and Speakers will be updated and made available after the round of submissions.
